Here's
a view from my old shop, into the backyard. You can see some of my old friends
here.
Right in the middle, there's a '67 Sedan deVille that ran like a top, with a nice 429-4V (like all 67 Cads). This one had a case of the uglies, having been stored out in the sun for many years in Northern Alberta. But when I drove her, she drove like, well, a Cadillac. Nothing like it.
I sold it to a nice fellow who was going to restore her, and give her to his wife. He said he might paint the Cad pink (!!!).
OK,
this one's ugly. This is a 66 Buick Special, with a 300- 2V (Rochester 2GC)
and a Super-Turbine 200 (equivalent to a Powerglide).
I bought this unit for $100 and drove her for a year, with no problems. One cold, wintry Alberta night, I forgot to plug her in - but, no worries, she fired up on the first crank at -35 degrees! They don't make them like that any more, to be sure.
I traded this one to Dean of Dean's Auto Rebuilding* in Edmonton a couple of years back; I think it made its way to Red Deer after that.
*Dean is a Helluva guy - I strongly recommend him for anything automotive.
